Brio 100 vs Brio 500: which webcam features matter?
Compare a straightforward webcam with one that adds framing tools before paying for features you may not use.

Two different starting points
Logitech positions the Brio 100 as a Full HD webcam with a built-in microphone and privacy shutter. The Brio 500 also offers Full HD video, adding auto-framing and Show Mode. These are manufacturer-listed features, not results from our own testing.
| Model | Why investigate it | Check carefully |
|---|---|---|
| Brio 100 | Basic video calls with a built-in privacy shutter | Its USB-A connection and whether its fixed framing suits your desk |
| Brio 500 | Framing tools and showing items on your desk | USB-C availability and software support for the features you want |
Our interpretation
If you sit in one position and simply need an external camera, the Brio 100 is a reasonable model to investigate. If you move while presenting or regularly show physical material, the Brio 500’s additional tools may be worth comparing. Neither conclusion is a claim about image quality in your room.
Improve your current setup first
Place your existing camera at a comfortable angle, clean the lens and avoid a bright window behind you. Record a short test in your usual meeting application. This gives you a baseline for deciding whether replacement hardware would solve the problem.
What remains untested
We have not compared low-light image quality, microphone performance or long-term reliability. Before buying, seek independent demonstrations under similar lighting and check your operating system against Logitech’s current requirements. Software-dependent features may differ across platforms.
